Nan Baldwin

Nan Baldwin

Nan Baldwin is the President & CEO of the Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce.  She is certified in non-profit organization management and accredited in Public Relations.  

Nan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Public and Private Management from Birmingham-Southern College.  Her professional credentials include: 

  • EDAA Government & Economic Development Institute Certification from the Economic Development Association of Alabama (EDAA) and Auburn University Leadership Institute Program
  • Institute for Organization Management (IOM) Designation from U.S. Chamber of Commerce).  IOM professional designation is awarded to nonprofit executives that complete the Institute for Organization Management Program administered by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation (requires 96 hours of course study).
  • Accredited in Public Relations (APR) – designation earned from the Public Relations Society of America – Universal Accreditation Board.

Nan has served on several local non-profit organization boards.  In 2022, she was reappointed by Governor Kay Ivey to serve on the Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and she is the incoming board chairman for 2024-2025.  Previous board memberships include the Alabama Partners for Clean Air, Birmingham Urban League and One Roof.  

Nan is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, the Tri-County, AL Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omicron Omega Chapter.   She is a graduate of A. H. Parker High School in the Birmingham City Schools System.  Nan is married to James Baldwin, and they have a set of twins, and one granddaughter.
