Angela Abdur-Rasheed

Angela Abdur-Rasheed is Communications and Community Engagement Director at Prosper, a nonprofit committed to inclusive economic development. She’s simultaneously the President of The Amplify Agency, LLC, a consulting firm amplifying workforce development, public relations, and literary works. Prior to those roles, she led an award-winning AmeriCorps national service program, worked in full-time ministry and was a television anchor, reporter and producer. Angela is an author of seven books available on Amazon. She was also the first publicist for Comedian Rickey Smiley.

The University of Alabama graduate facilitates nationally and locally on topics like communications strategies, employee and program management, etiquette and workforce development. She has volunteered with or trained 40+ nonprofit organizations and corporations. Angela was recognized as Top Nonprofit Leader of 2024, Top 50 Over 50 in 2024 and was honored as one of the Top Women for 2022. In her spare time, she enjoys eating the warm center of a brownie, binging HGTV with her husband Aquil, helping people know that Life Gets Better and obsessing about New Edition and Dolly Parton.
