ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Reginald D. McDaniel is a licensed attorney, mediator and FINRA Arbitrator who started his law practice in 2002. Prior to entering private legal practice, Mr. McDaniel worked in the federal government, television, print media, public relations, and sports information. With over 20 years of management, administrative and executive level experience combined with over 23 years of legal experience, Mr. McDaniel brings a unique perspective on solving complex legal issues and handling client needs in private and business litigation. McDaniel was named to Birmingham’s Top Lawyers in 2014, National Top Black Lawyers Association yearly since 2015, National Trial Lawyers Top 100 since 2020, and recently named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. McDaniel continues to grow his law firm by focusing on legal areas such as Civil Rights and Discrimination Law; Sports & Entertainment Law; Serious Medical Malpractice/Personal Injury and Contract & Business Law. McDaniel continues his practice skills in the areas of complex civil litigation by representing individual plaintiffs and businesses in cases throughout the nation, involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and entertainment/sports law. McDaniel graduated, Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian at Miles College and graduated from Miles Law School in 1993. He is the CEO of Soul 1st Records, and Soul 1st Music Publishing, former owner of WARB/V105 Radio-Dothan, AL and former ABA Pro Basketball Franchise owner of the Birmingham Magicians.
McDaniel is a founder of the former Sam Cooke International Fan Tribute. McDaniel has been featured in many media outlets including features on WVTM TV NBC, WIAT TV CBS, Alabama TV and Stardom Magazine cover-Feb. 2021.
Representation of clients include the former Mayor of Birmingham, Larry Langford, City Councilman, Steven Hoyt, entertainers and athletes including former NBA star, Eric Bledsoe, former NFL great, Willie Tullis, singers Calvin Richardson, Omar Cunningham, Willie Hightower, Bigg Robb and comedian Rickey Smiley along with a host of coaches and athletes.
McDaniel, an Alabama native, is married to Janet and has four daughters and four grandchildren. His motto in life is, “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” (Martin Luther King Jr.)
